Administrative Assistant - Milwaukee Renaissance Academy

Primary Responsibilities:: 
Perform a wide variety of duties in such areas as enrollment, student records, student transportation, payroll, lunch program, field trips, supplies, and the handling of cash. These duties require frequent contact and interaction with parents, students, staff, board and community members.

Additional duties include:
- Answer phones and greet visitors as well as determine who/when access should be given to specific individuals.
- Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and email.
- File and retrieve student documents, records, and reports.
- Prepare responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries.
- Perform general office duties such as ordering supplies, maintaining records management systems, and performing basic bookkeeping work.
- Prepare agendas and make arrangements for committee, board, and other meetings.
- Attend meetings in order to compile, transcribe, and distribute minutes of meetings.
- Assist with the preparation of invoices, reports, memos, letters, financial statements and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and/or presentation software.
- Track and record student and staff daily attendance
- Arrange for class coverage when staff absence occurs
- Update school website content
- Dispense student medicine and medical supplies
- Track the use of and distribute student bus tickets
- Arrange bus transportation for school fieldtrips
- Additional duties as assigned

Skills/Requirements: 
The ideal candidate will have prior school office administrative assistant experience which required strong people skills, accompanied by solid oral and written communication skills, positive first impression, leadership skills and the ability to prioritize and multi task on a daily basis. The individual filling the position must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding students, staff and families. Knowledge and experience with PowerSchool student information system a plus. Proficiency with procedures and systems related to word processing, spreadsheets, managing files and records, transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

Salary: 
$26,000 - $31,000
