Development Manager at Community Shares of Greater Milwaukee

Primary Responsibilities:: 

•Develop and execute annual fundraising plan.
•Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations.
•Develop ongoing relationships with donors.
•Manage proper operation of donor database
•Oversee organization of special events.
•Staff Development Committee.
•Provide reports on development activities

 

Skills/Requirements: 

•Bachelor’s Degree required.
•10-plus years experience in development work desired.
•Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
•Demonstrated excellence in organizational and research skills.
•Ability to carry out multifaceted workload.
•Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective positive working relationships with volunteers, staff and donors.
•Proficient in MS Office, including Word and Excel. Knowledge of donor software.
•Prior experience at grant writing desirable

This is a half-time position with Community Shares of Greater Milwaukee, a successful and growing nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Milwaukee area social justice, environmental and animal welfare organizations. This individual will be responsible for creating a development plan to ensure adequate funding support through individuals, corporate sponsorship and foundations and manage some special events. Individual will staff our Development Committee and report to the Executive Director.
