IndependenceFirst, an organization committed to empowering persons with disabilities, is seeking a full-time team player to join our Fund Development and PR/Marketing Departments.
This position will perform fundraising, events, marketing and public relations assistance tasks in conjunction with the Fund Development Director and PR/Marketing Director, and will assume a leadership role on at least one fundraising event. Good communication, initiative, public speaking and organizational skills are required; college degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or public relations preferred. At least 2 years of experience in special events, marketing, public relations or fundraising required. Computer skills are a must and Web 2.0 knowledge with social media experience is desired. Personal experience with people with disabilities is a plus. Additional responsibilities include providing general support to the department as directed.
