Advancement Office: Annual Giving Manager

University School of Milwaukee is an independent, co-educational, college preparatory day school for students from prekindergarten (age 3) through grade 12. Current enrollment is 1,060 students. More information may be found at www.usmk12.org.
Role:
The Annual Giving Manager (AGM) is a key member of the Advancement team and is responsible for the Annual Giving program. This person will develop and implement a plan to maintain, renew, and build annual giving support from members of the University School of Milwaukee community. The AGM reports to the Director of Development and Donor Relations.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute a comprehensive Annual Giving program in collaboration with the Alumni Relations Manager.
- Manage annual giving solicitations and stewardship for parents, grandparents, faculty/staff, and other constituents. Support additional activities that occur within a highly segmented and sophisticated annual fundraising program.
- Plan and manage phonathon, direct mail, and email/web-based appeals, to include targeted and broad-based groups of prospects.
- Assist with recruiting, training, coordinating, and supporting volunteers, including the Annual Giving Cabinet leaders and class-level parent leaders.
- Oversee annual gift acknowledgment process for all annual donors at all levels of giving. Participate in the stewardship of donors to thank, inform, and educate about the purpose of annual giving.
- Identify opportunities to expand annual giving through the acquisition of new donors, and the increased giving levels of existing donors.
- Manage a portfolio of 75 to 100 individual prospects and volunteers, to include direct solicitation.
- Complete regular assessment of progress towards goals, analyzing the various aspects of the program and developing the plan for the upcoming year.
- Use Raiser's Edge to capture and track donor/prospect engagement and participation. Generate weekly contact reports.
- Work closely with Marketing & Communications team to communicate all aspects of the Annual Giving program.
Requirements Include:
In addition to a bachelor's degree, the ideal candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:
- A minimum of two years of experience with responsibility for annual fundraising in an independent school or related non-profit.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the proficiency to work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues, parents, alumni, and other constituents.
- Flexibility and initiative, as well as the ability to work independently, combined with the skills for thriving in a team environment to achieve institutional goals.
- Capacity to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines.
- Respect for the maintenance of confidential information.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Experience working with a donor database is essential.
